Pet Loss Grief
The loss of a beloved pet can be devastating and traumatic. For many of us, pets are more than companions—they're beloved family members who provided unconditional love and comfort. Unfortunately, not everyone recognizes the depth of this bond, and society often minimizes pet loss grief, which can leave you feeling isolated and feeling misunderstood.
You might be experiencing:
Intense grief that others don't understand, and guilt about your pet's final days
Struggling to concentrate, maintain routines, or care for yourself like you normally would
Being judged for the depth of your grief in a society that thinks you should “just get over it”

Grief & Loss
Grief can feel overwhelming and isolating, especially when others expect you to "move on" or "get over it" faster than feels natural to you. Whether you're dealing with the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or any significant loss, your grief deserves space and understanding.
You might be experiencing:
Feeling like you're drowning in sadness and having difficulty with everyday life
Struggling with guilt, anger, or regret about things said or unsaid, done or left undone
Feeling exhausted by well-meaning people who don't understand your loss

Grief is one of life’s most challenging experiences.
You don’t have to navigate it alone.
Your healing matters, and support is here when you’re ready.

LGBTQ+ Support
I strive to create a welcoming, affirming environment where LGBTQ+ individuals can explore their stories without fear of judgment. Whether you're navigating identity, relationships, family dynamics, or simply wanting to feel more at peace within yourself, you don't have to do it alone.
You might be experiencing:
Tired of having to educate people or wondering if your therapist will “get” your experience
Dealing with family, discrimination, and relationships while managing your mental health
Wanting to work on personal growth in a space where you can be completely yourself

Anxiety & Overthinking
Your mind feels like it's constantly running at full speed, analyzing every situation and imagining worst-case scenarios. Whether you're dealing with past trauma that keep surfacing or simply can't quiet the mental chatter, you deserve support in finding peace.
You might be experiencing:
Racing thoughts that keep you awake at night or make it hard to focus during the day
Constantly second-guessing yourself and replaying conversations over and over
Feeling exhausted from all the mental energy spent worrying about things

Even when it feels impossible, there is a path forward.
Small steps can lead to big changes.
Your healing matters, and support is here when you’re ready.

Young Adults Navigating Life
Whether you're questioning your career path, feeling uncertain about major life decisions, or simply feeling lost about what comes next, navigating young adulthood can feel overwhelming. You don't need to be in the middle of a major transition to feel stuck—sometimes you just need clarity about who you're becoming and what you want from life.
You might be experiencing:
Feeling lost or directionless, even when things seem "fine" on paper
Questioning whether you're on the right career path or passionate about anything
Comparing yourself to others who seem more confident in their choices
Feeling overwhelmed by all the possibilities but paralyzed to choose

Americans Living Abroad
Living abroad can be an incredible adventure, but it also comes with unique challenges that people back home don't always understand. Homesickness, culture shock, and feeling caught between two worlds can leave you questioning your decisions and feeling isolated.
You might be experiencing:
Struggling with loneliness and feeling disconnected from both your home & new country
Second-guessing your decision to move and feeling guilt about leaving loved ones behind
Dealing with anxiety, depression, or grief while navigating different cultural expectations

Life can be challenging, and having someone in your corner can make all the difference.
You don’t have to figure it out alone. Support is here when you’re ready.

Depression & Mood Disorders
You might feel disconnected from the things and people you once enjoyed, struggling to find motivation or hope for the future. Whether you're experiencing persistent sadness, mood swings, or emotional numbness, these challenges can make life feel unmanageable.
You might be experiencing:
Feeling emotionally numb or empty, like you're just going through the motions of daily life
Having trouble getting out of bed, maintaining routines, or caring for yourself
Experiencing intense mood swings that impact your relationships and daily functioning
Feeling like your emotions are controlling you rather than the other way around

Life Transitions
Whether you're starting a new job, ending a relationship, moving to a new city, or facing any major life change, transitions can leave you feeling unmoored and uncertain about who you're becoming. Even positive changes can bring unexpected stress and anxiety.
You might be experiencing:
Feeling caught between your old life and your desire for what's next
Questioning your decisions and wondering if you're making the right choices
Feeling overwhelmed by all the adjustments required and missing

Your Moment to Flourish Starts Now
Life's challenges can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to face them alone.
Compassionate, skilled support is available to help you navigate whatever you're going through and guide you toward the life you envision for yourself.

A Little About Me
Ebony Yelder, MA, LPC
Licensed in Louisiana, Georgia & New Jersey
Hi, I'm Ebony Yelder (she/her), a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience and a Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist.
I'm here to support you through whatever is happening in your life right now. You're free to be yourself with me—no need to edit yourself or find the "right" way to say things. This is a space where your truth is welcome and respected, curse words and all.
I use a strength-based approach, combining Positive Psychology, Solution-Focused therapy, and Narrative Psychology. That means we'll focus on identifying your existing strengths and building on what's already working in your life, instead of dwelling on what's broken or going wrong.
What makes my practice unique:
I don't give "homework"—I give challenges and goals
I don't use the word "failure"—everything is a learning opportunity
I believe in a "no regrets" philosophy because your story matters, exactly as it is
